SGS Creative. History.
SGS Creative was formed in 1997 when Shawn G. Sedoff left the Hollywood studio, BLT and Associates, and ventured out on his own. Having created movie trailer motion graphic titles for three years he had a desire to do more than just slam text around the screen.
Using his understanding of high resolution imagery he landed his first large animation project with Martin Brinkerhoff and Associates within the first 6 months. The show’s objective was to create a vast three screen virtual world for Acura’s 1997 annual dealer meeting at San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium on Nob Hill. He quickly loaded up with computers and completed six virtual rooms and an enormous main hallway within a month and a half, at film resolution no less, for final delivery, on time and on budget. By himself.
At just about the same time, he was approached by a producer, celebrity Jim Caldwell and his company Future Thunder Productions, who were putting together a show for a vacuum cleaner, the Fantom Lightning. Fantom had developed a new technology called ‘cyclonic suction’ that they were having a difficult time explaining with traditional imagery. At the time the product was developed there was no CAD data available, so Shawn had to get in and model the vacuum inside and out to create every detail of a vacuum cleaner and it’s suctioning power. SGS Creative’s visuals not only sold the product, but racked up numerous awards for their innovative use.
Both of these projects and their successes created long term relationships. SGS Creative has created two or more shows with Martin Brinkerhoff and Associates every year for the past 10 years! Jim Caldwell continues to hire SGS Creative for all of his Motion Graphics needs and he passed the good news onto his associate company, Hawthorne Direct, Inc.. Since then Hawthorne Direct, Inc. has hired SGS Creative for infomercials for the past eight years! This continued success has spawned countless shows and infomercials with other producers for the past ten years. SGS Creative is proud of our associations with top producers and we work hard to make sure that our clients are happy with the products we deliver for every show. As you can read in the two testimonials on the following page, clients appreciate the honesty and integrity of the SGS Creative work ethic.
In late 2005, SGS Creative realized that we were no longer meeting face to face with our clients on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis. Approximately 95% of the work is reviewed and delivered over the internet today. Not just in standard definition but Film, HD, Stereographic 3D and the immense five screen shows which SGS Creative develops every summer. In fact, in the case of Hawthorne Direct, Inc., there has never been a face to face meeting! This has allowed SGS Creative to relocate their offices back to Houston, TX where Shawn’s career began with Rives Carlberg Advertising 13 years earlier.
Now back in Texas, SGS Creative is still working with MBA, Future Thunder Productions, Hawthorne Direct and all of the other producers and studios we’ve built relationships with over the years. But SGS Creative is expanding and wants to include you in our family of satisfied customers!
With hundreds of shows delivered over the past ten years, this two disc set is a showcase of only a small portion of SGS Creative’s abilities. The magic really happens when you hire SGS Creative to work for you. Contact SGS Creative today and let us dazzle you on one of your projects soon!
