These projects are from my 3D Animation 2 class where the students have to research how a mechanical object works, write the script, storyboard the process, create an animatic from the storyboards, do the entire animation process (Blocking, Refinement, Final 3D Passes) and finally composite the animation in Adobe After Effects with motion graphics such as arrows and titles.
I do not require the students to do ‘Final’ Arnold rendering for the 3D Animation 2 class because I want the students to focus on the animation, timing, staging, etc. of the animation and not the rendering aspects. They do not have access to a render farm and our campus labs do not have the resources to render out 22 students 3-minute long videos. Once the students have an A+ Animation then we set up rendering for those A+ Animations for their portfolios.

In this semester we partnered with our Process Technology center to create informative videos about the different valve systems they teach.

As I curate the past 15 years as an instructor, I will be posting more student work from my classes soon!!
